GAME THREE

On an amazing night for football, the Crusader defense continually made the big plays when needed all night long. In a stunning display of quickness and speed, rookie star linebacker #42 John Wagner penetrated the Monarch offensive line and scooped up a fumbled pitch. He ran it back thirty yards for the first score of the night.

The Monarchs connected on a nice thirty yard jump ball pass at the one yard line. One play later they scored. The Crusaders were able to block the extra point attempt which made the score 7-6.

The Monarchs fought valiantly to the end as they were able to reach the Crusader six yard line with less than 8 seconds left on the clock. However, with no more time outs, they were forced to watch the clock tick down to zero. As it turned out, the extra point #21 Joe Lehman kicked after the first score of the game ended up being the game winning point due to the epic defensive war throughout the rest of the game.

GAME TWO

Saturday the team took on the Rosco Rush and fell to them by a score of 30 - 0. The offence struggled but Ken Grundy had some nice runs. The Defence was really in top form. The points allowed does not give the true sence of how well the D played. Kemp Freeman and Joe Leahman both coming up big with INT's aginst the high powered passing attack. John Wagner was all around the field making big tachles and forcing early throws all night. Though not a victory the team has this week off to get guys back and get ready for the Monarchs on May 20th.

GAME  ONE

The Crusaders took their game to Muskeego on Saturday and came home with a tough loss. Loosing 27 - 7. Even with out 5 key starters because of a wedding  on the team the guys fought hard and worked together well. Check back later this week for stats.

The Crusader family wants to remember Traci Smet, our friend and Head Trainer. She and the 32nd "Red Arrow" have just shipped out to Iraq to serve and protect our great nation.

We look for a safe return of her and all our troops very soon.
